the Sacramento Region this summer, you can ride any fixed-route or
commuter bus service in Placer County for FREE! Free transit services include:

can sign up to receive free alerts for Spare the Air days via email,
text pager, or digital cellular phone from
AirAlert,
provided by the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.
Spare the Air days are forecast at least a day in advance which helps
people plan their commute.

The
Placer
County Air Pollution Control District (PCAPCD) has awarded Clean Air
Grant funding to sponsor PCPTA's Congestion Management Program, which
includes the Spare the Air campaign.
*Spare the Air days are designated by the
Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality
Management District (SMAQMD), and are defined as days when ozone levels in
the Sacramento region are forecast to exceed 150 (.095 parts per million) on the Air Quality Index. An ozone level of 150 is in
the upper end of the "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" category.
Free fare days in Placer County are only those Spare the Air days
forecasted at least one day in advance by SMAQMD.
