Through its Congestion Management Program (CMP), PCTPA provides incentives and information to commuters who use alternative transportation.  Specifically, the alternative transportation programs of the CMP give cash and prizes to individuals with excellent commuting and rideshare habits.  The following alternative transportation programs are available through the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency's Congestion Management Program:

Bucks for BikesIf you are employed in Placer County, you could be eligible for up to $200 toward a new commute bicycle of your choice.

Spare the Air: Free FareOn all designated Spare the Air days in the Sacramento Region this summer, you can ride any fixed-route or commuter bus service in Placer County for FREE!

Spare the Air for BucksThe Spare the Air for Bucks program awards cash and prizes to individuals who use alternative transportation modes.  Monthly prizes include either $150 cash, a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com or Target, or both during June, July, and August.

Summer Youth Bus Pass:  Kids in south Placer County can get all around town with the Summer Youth Bus Pass. The $10 pass is available to kids in elementary through high school, and is good for unlimited rides on Auburn Transit, Lincoln Transit, Placer County Transit, and Roseville Transit.

Guaranteed Ride Home: a free service that provides a ride home to registered rideshare program participants in the event of an emergency.

Way to Go:  The Way to Go Program is a road sense project that fosters safer, healthier travel alternatives for elementary middle, and high school students.  The goal of the Way to Go Program is to encourage and enable more students and their parents to walk, bike, carpool, or take public transportation

Ridematching:  Ridematching through Sacramento Region Travel Info (511) is a safe, convenient, and confidential way to find a carpool partner or vanpool. Call the PCTPA Rideshare Coordinator at (530) 823-4029 or visit sacregion511.org to get set up with a commute partner.
