Placer County Transportation
Planning Agency (PCTPA) and the
Placer County Air
Pollution Control District (PCAPCD) are sponsoring Spare the Air for Bucks
prize drawings. Cash amounts of $150, and/or a $25 gift certificate to
Amazon.com or Target can be won during June, July, and August - the months when
summer heat combines with automobile exhaust to produce some of our
worst air pollution in Placer County. That's when reducing your vehicle
trips by using a "clean air commute" option makes a lot of sense - and
dollars, too.
Clean air commute modes include carpooling, vanpooling, bicycling,
walking, riding transit or taking the train, and telecommuting to work. Just use a
clean air commute option at least once during each month to be eligible
to win. You can also use a combination of any of these options over the
course of the month.
Remember, the more often you use clean air commute modes, the more
chances you have to win each month.
Eligible participants must be employed in Placer County.
To enter,
complete
the online registration form or download the registration form, logging your preferred clean
air commute mode(s) for the month. Registrations
are due following the end of the entry month and must be
received by the 7th of the following month (example: June registrations
are due no earlier than July 1st and no later than July 7th). Registrations
submitted prior to the end of the entry
month will be invalidated.
Registration forms can be submitted:
- Online throught the online registration;
- E-mailed to ssabol@pctpa.org; or
- Faxed to (530) 823-4036
Just one registration per month,
please. For questions, call Solvi Sabol at (530) 823-4029 or send
her an email.
To help us get the word out about
the Spare the Air for Bucks program and to encourage others to
use a clean air commute, we've provided
kiosk flyers that can be
printed and displayed at your office worksite and a
sample email
that you can send out explaining the Spare the Air for Bucks
program.
The
Placer County Air Pollution Control District (PCAPCD) has
awarded Clean Air Grant funding to sponsor PCPTA's Congestion
Management Program, which includes the Spare the Air campaign.
