Some key roadway projects that PCTPA is currently helping to coordinate
and fund:
I-80/Douglas Interchange Enhancements:
Funded by a partnership between
the City of Roseville, Caltrans, and PCTPA, this project will improved
traffic flow to and from I-80, Douglas Boulevard and Sunrise Avenue. Construction is currently underway, and completion is
expected in Fall 2005. See the
City of
Roseville Department of Public Works webpage for more detailed
project information.
Sierra College Boulevard
Improvements:
The improvements to Sierra College Boulevard will consist of widening
the roadway to four or six lanes from State Route (SR) 193 to the
Sacramento County line, and reconstruction of the interchange at I-80.
The environmental document has been completed and design is currently
underway for the interchange portion of the project. Construction is
scheduled for Fall 2005 contingent upon available funding.
I-80 Capacity Expansion in
Roseville: The projected traffic demand on the I-80 freeway corridor
will, in the near future, impact the freeway to a point of operational
breakdown during peak periods. This project will consist of adding
one lane in each direction on I-80 from the Sacramento/Placer County
line to approximately one-half mile east of the SR 65 connector and the
addition of auxiliary lanes. Work for this project will be phased:
Phase I will be the eastbound auxiliary lane from the County line to
Douglas Boulevard and will be ready to construct in 2005. Funding
needed for construction has not yet been identified.
Lincoln Bypass:
The proposed project is a westerly bypass along SR 65 around the City of
Lincoln. The project consists of a roughly 10-mile two- and four-lane
facility extending from Industrial Boulevard in Lincoln to just north of
Sheridan. Design and right-of-way purchasing are are currently
underway and construction is scheduled for the 2008/2009 fiscal year. |
