Auburn Transit  (530) 823-4211
The City of Auburn Department of Public works operates Auburn Transit. Auburn Transit provides two deviated fixed routes weekdays from 5:50 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and one deviated fixed route on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. These interlinking routes will deviate from the scheduled route up to ¾ of a mile upon a reservation request, scheduled at least two hours in advance. This deviated fixed-route service fulfills the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirement for complementary paratransit service. The vehicles are equipped with a cellular phone, which allows passengers to contact the drivers directly for demand-response service.

Auburn Transit is based around the Auburn Multi-Modal Station located on Blocker Drive near Nevada Street. The Auburn Multi-Modal Station provides a transfer point from Auburn Transit to Placer County Transit, Nevada County’s Gold County Stage, and CTSA service.

Consolidated Transportation Services Agency (CTSA)
(530) 888-7433
The Consolidated Transportation Services Agency of Placer County (CTSA) is the designated provider of elderly and disabled transit services in Placer County.

CTSA also coordinates the I-Ride and Voucher Transportation Programs and subsidizes a volunteer transportation program for seniors.  Below is a description of each:

  • I-Ride Program (530) 888-7433 – provides trips to passengers for various purposes and charges are based on the distance of the trip. Rates are typically much higher than fixed-route public transit and other Dial-A-Ride services, although lower than a taxi service.
  • Voucher Program (530) 888-7433 – provides a voucher to those who cannot otherwise afford to pay for the cost associated with an occasional, necessary trip to medical appointments, job interviews, court appearance, etc.  Social service agencies or other organizations can obtain a voucher for their clients through CTSA, who evaluates the request and searches for the best transportation for the passenger.
  • Seniors First (Volunteer) Transportation Program Auburn: (530) 889-9500 ext. 202; Roseville: (916) 782-4202 ext. 204 – provides transportation service to passengers aged 60 and over and transportation disabled persons (regardless of age) who are unable to use public transportation due to some physical or mental disability.  The service area includes Lincoln, Roseville, Citrus Heights, central and northern Placer County (to Colfax).  Volunteer drivers provide trips using their private vehicles and reservations are required at least two days in advance.

Effective January 1, 2008, PCTPA serves as an interim CTSA for western Placer County. More info...

The service picks up and drops off passengers anywhere within the City limits and to the Galleria in Roseville.
