Throughout 2004, the public transit
operators in Placer County took public input and combined it with
recent data and some transit-planning know-how to develop seven-year
draft transit plans for Auburn Transit, Lincoln Transit, Placer County
Transit, Roseville Transit, and PRIDE Industries as the CTSA of Placer
County. Every three to four
years, public transit operators typically update their transit plans to
reflect changes in population, to respond to gaps in the transportation
system, to evaluate their existing services, and to analyze possible new
ways to provide service that may be more cost effective. Placer County
Transit, Roseville Transit, Auburn Transit, Lincoln Transit, and PRIDE
Industries, as the CTSA of Placer County, embarked on just such a
process last summer, when public workshops were held to hear what
citizens had to say about making transit work better. That input has
been folded into draft seven year transit plans, which were the subject
of the workshops held on August 17, 2004 in Auburn and Roseville.
